Version 3.18.3: A better STEL Shop

With our latest update, we’re launching an improved STEL Shop. This new version includes a complete redesign of the tool, featuring a new header, a search bar, a category section, and a new store view that maximizes the number of products shown at a glance.

A year and a half ago, we launched the first version of STEL Shop. We didn’t create it to compete with Prestashop, WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, or other platforms. We built it to help our customers embrace omnichannel commerce — to sell online in the easiest, fastest way, and to give their clients a professional, personalized experience through a customer portal.

Of course, STEL Shop is not meant to replace major ecommerce platforms. But it does cover the basic needs of both B2B and B2C sales in a simple, powerful, and fully integrated way.

Our focus is to constantly analyze ecommerce trends and bring to our users some of the features used by the big players. With that in mind, we’ve been working on new updates that we hope will improve the buying experience your Shops deliver.

If you’re not using STEL Shop yet, we encourage you to give it a try. You can set it up in just a few minutes from your STEL Order account, it’s included in your subscription and will definitely help you increase sales and enhance your customer experience.

General redesign of Shop

We’ve improved STEL Shop’s responsive behavior to enhance the shopping experience on mobile devices. You’ll notice better screen usage, for example, your store can now display up to 4 products per row. We’ve also made it much more adaptable when browsing on a smartphone or tablet.

New header and search bar

We’ve added a global search bar to your STEL Shop header to help your customers find what they’re looking for. For example, they can now find products by searching for their reference number. It’s important to note that when a user is browsing within a specific product category, the search will only return results from that category.

New category section

A growing ecommerce trend we’ve adopted is displaying your product categories right below the header to make browsing easier for your customers. When browsing on mobile devices, users can scroll sideways to explore all the categories published in your Shop.

New store views

One of the most requested features from STEL Shop users — especially those using it for B2B sales — was a new type of product view that maximizes how many products are visible at once. We call this view “No photo”.

Additionally, we’ve introduced another view called “List”, which displays products in a single-column format instead of a grid. This view shows the main image, product name, price, and the “add to cart” button when applicable.

From your STEL Shop Settings, under the Store section, you can choose which view should be the default for your store visitors.

Improved cookie management

We’ve implemented transparent policies and practices that give users more control and options regarding cookie usage in your Shop. This includes providing clear information about the cookies being used, allowing users to customize their preferences, and respecting user privacy and data protection. The goal is to balance data collection for a better experience with respect for user privacy.

Bug fixes

STEL Shop is a living project that continues to evolve. With each update, we take the opportunity to improve features and fix the small issues reported by our users. In this version, we’ve addressed a few bugs related to the sales process and improved the design for better usability — making Shop a more secure and useful tool for our customers.

We hope you like it!
